The mission is guided by the values of caring, compassion and transferral to our diverse patient population. The Department of OB-GYN provides all levels of inpatient and outpatient superintendency and promotes women’s health through disease prevention, education and treatment. Services will be rendered to all of our patients regardless of severity of injury and illness, method of payment, race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexual orientation or religion. The department is staffed by full time OB-GYN faculty, physicians, midwives, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. The department moreover has an ACGME accredited residency program with 17 residents. Sub specialties include; gynecology, reproductive endocrinology, infertility, gynecological oncology, maternal fetal medicine, urogynecology and minimally invasive surgery. A new Women’s PrimarySuperintendencyCenter provides easy wangle to routine OB-GYN services, outpatient procedures and family planning. Riggs, M.D. Chairman Dr Riggs joined the Nassau University Medical Center in August 2015 as chairman of the OB/GYN Department. Dr. John Riggs is originally from Haddonfield in southern New Jersey. He attended Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. for undergraduate and medical school education. He completed his residency in OB-GYN at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. From 1989-1999, he worked with his father, Joseph, in private practice in Haddon Heights, New Jersey where they specialized in Urogynecology, Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery, and Minimally Invasive Laparoscopic Surgery.Withouthis father/partner retired, Dr. Riggs moved to NYC and joined the staff of Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn. Over the next 15 years, he held multiple positions at Wyckoff: Director-Gynecology and Urogynecology, Director-Women’s Health Center, Chairman OB-GYN, President-Medical Staff, and President-Medical Board. He subsequently practiced for 3 years at Brooklyn Hospital in General OB-GYN. Dr. Riggs is currently Clinical Chair-OB GYN at the American University-Antigua (AUA). He completed his medical training at Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies. Dr. Stanislawski completed his residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at NUMC where he was a senior resident and became an peekaboo at NUMC without graduating in 2010.Dr. Stanislawski is currently the medical student preceptor for the Department of OB-GYN at Nassau University Medical Center and is Director of Quality Assurance. Peter Hong, MD Maternal Fetal Medicine Dr. Hong is aWorkbenchCertified obstetrician/gynecologist, specializing in Maternal-Fetal Medicine.  He is theSeniorof Obstetric Ultrasound and Antepartum Testing Unit and Asst. Professor in the Dept. of OB/GYN at NUMC.   He performs comprehensive prenatal testing for maternal and fetal genetic screening.  He treats all conditions complicating pregnancy and delivery. Dr. Hong received his undergraduate stratum from New York University and his medical stratum from New York University School of Medicine.  He completed a residency in OB/GYN at Downstate Medical Center/Kings County Hospital followed by a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal-Medicine at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY. Dr. Hong has been in practice for increasingly than 34 years at various Medical Centers, including Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Queens Hospital and Downstate Medical Center.  He is currently on staff and in practice at NUMC for increasingly than 18 years. Mary Fatehi, MD Director of Gynecologic Oncology Dr. Mary Fatehi joined our staff in May 2017 as Director of Gynecologic Oncology. A native North Carolinian, she has lived on Long Island with her family since 2003. She completed her undergraduate stratum at Duke University and graduate stratum at University of Minnesota at Duluth. She earned her MD with Honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and unfurled her training to well-constructed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Yale New Haven Hospital. Griggs, Jr. joined the Obstetrics & Gynecology department at Nu Health Medical Center as Co-director of Obstetrics in August 2017.  Dr. Griggs received his undergraduate training at Cornell University, and received his medical stratum from University of Buffalo School of Medicine.  Dr. Griggs completed his residency training at Lutheran Medical Center and Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Withoutcompleting his postgraduate training, Dr. Griggs has been a practicing physician in private practice in the East Meadow polity for the past 28 years.
